Dr. Johanna Siméant is professor of Political Science at the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne and is currently a visiting fellow at the Institute of French Studies at New York University. Her research examines democratic activism, global social movements, and political protest. Her latest book, Contester au Mali (Karthala, 2014) is a case study of political mobilization and demonstrations in Bamako, Mali, where she has conducted extensive fieldwork.
