Ethnographic Encounters: Customizing your Research Methods for Fieldwork Workshop-Dr. Nesette Falu

Getting ready to conduct research and fieldwork in the social sciences and humanities? Want to learn more about how to interpret ethnographic research? This workshop will explore various ethnographic methodologies and pearls for gathering information, conducting interviews, engaging informants, and interpreting social contexts. We will address:
(1) how can you locate yourself in relation to others, within a different context, different language, etc.
(2) how to navigate during fieldwork various social analytical themes such as race, gender and sexuality and complex research questions within your research 
(3) how to write ethnographically and incorporate your self-reflective voice.
Monthly sessions for upper undergraduates and graduate students on a roll-in basis. Additional sessions are scheduled for November 12, December 10.
