Elijah Anderson to speak on "Understanding Ferguson," Oct. 14

On Tuesday, October 14 at 8 p.m., renowned sociologist Dr. Elijah Anderson will present a public lecture entitled "Understanding Ferguson: The Crisis in Policing of the Black Community." The lecture will be held in Packard Lab 101. Dr. Anderson is the William K. Lanman, Jr. Professor of Sociology at Yale University. His research and publications examine public life, race and class in American cities. His appearance is part of the Department of Sociology & Anthropology's Robert C. and Virginia L. Williamson Endowed Lecture series, and is co-sponsored by the Africana Studies Program, the Humanities Center, and the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Diversity.
